St Joseph's serves the Roman Catholic community living in
Romsey, the Wellows and up to Whiteparish.
Our Parish Priest is Father George Lyons who also serves our sister
church of St Andrew's in North Baddesley.

About our
Patron Saint - St. Joseph - Feast Day is 19th March
Foster father of Jesus and husband of Mary to whom he
was distantly related within the House of David. Head of The
Holy Family who responded to God’s calling and protected
Mary from potential scandal. A carpenter by trade he took
Mary and Jesus into exile in Egypt to save them from Herod
but took them home to Nazareth after Herod’s death. With
Mary raised Jesus in ‘the hidden years’ and is thought to
have died sometime in the years before Jesus began his
public ministry. Revered as patron of the dying as well as
being patron saint of workers for whom he is seen as an
ideal model. |
